VestAndPage's movie episode "sin∞fin - Performances at the End of the World" is Europe and UK premiere screened as part of I AM NOT A POET (August 7-21). In an international program, contemporary artists' experimental films explore connections of text, moving image, performance and art practice. Presented by Total Kunst Gallery and VerySmallKitche in association with Inky Fingers. Curated by David Berridge and Mirja Koponen.
"sin∞fin - Performances at the End of the World" is the first episode of "s i n ∞ f i n The Movie", an art project in progress on various 'stages'. VestAndPage develop live performance actions in various outstanding locations around the world, analyzing artistically the subject of spheres. The final result of each 'stage' is a hybrid film as part of the "s i n ∞ f i n" movie series. In the first episode, produced in Chilean Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego in co-production with 'CONFL!CTA Contemporary Art and Science Research', the two characters move through the rooms of a house that has no address: the structure of their interior spaces, stuffed with visions and memories. “Patagonia is a hybrid of pathos and agony.” Here the Magellan feeling arises by opposing surreal dream-sequences to situations of everyday life. The winds and climate of the land situated at the end of the world cause and favor a continuous disintegration and consequential transformation of beings. The vastness of the area, its isolation and solitude, tell repeatedly of a unique nature, permeated by mystery and surrealism, inside which the individual adapts him/herself searching to find a home. // DVD - color - 00:38:52 - English with Spanish subtitles - 2010 // http://www.sinfin-themovie.de

The MA Degree Program in Live Art and Performance Studies at the Theatre Academy Helsinki presents LAPSody - 3rd International Conference and Festival for Live Art with a wide series of lectures, presentation, workshops and live performances by international artists.
LAPSody is a conference and festival that explores and questions ideas about perception, embodiment, transformation and encounters. Peculiar angles pertaining to cycles of popularity (acceptance and norms) in performance, academia, everyday life, and art are considered from various positions. The aim of LAPSody is to form and sustain professional networks, which address sustainability of Live Art practice in the globalised world today.
